About the CEO
Hello and I’m Kerri - a professional consultant, social worker, and teacher. The care and sensitivity that I bring with me into Beauty in Human Growth (BIHG) will provide every human that wants to change their life for the better to have the tools. The creation of the BIHG Wheel was inspired through over 20 years of work in the human development and therapeutic fields to assist mental health professionals with providing QUALITY, AFFORDABLE, and LASTING services. This comes at the time when there are not enough competent and qualified providers to tackle the mental health epidemic sweeping our country and world, especially after the Covid chaos.
To tell you a little about me, I grew up in a dysfunctional family with divorced parents and began working at 12 years old at a Dairy Queen because I needed a drill team uniform. Then I had to move with my family across the country at 17 so I quit school in the 12th grade and earned my GED. By this time, I was working 3 jobs as I was climbing my way up the chain – legal secretary, Office of Human Rights secretary, and switchboard operator for a major hotel. These formative years taught me how to persevere through life and find solutions to my problems. It fueled my desire for higher education when I asked myself and a very important question: “What do I want to do with my life?”, and I answered that by knowing, “I want to understand why people do what they do”. I have found the cause and solution to my lifelong question through hard work in earning a bachelor’s degree in criminology, a master’s degree in special education, many counseling certifications, and personal/professional experiences. I’m eager to support you with finding your way into that Light with me for Freedom!
Be watching for me on a stage speaking to colleagues about human development issues. I have a passion for children, special education, mental health therapies, and finding peace within ourselves. I am more importantly a wife, mother, daughter, aunt, and trustworthy friend. I’m enthusiastic in my creations you will see in children’s books to assist them and their parents with how to validate their own worthy feelings.
